Not only are they born painfully mesmerising creatures, even their names echo such an enimagtic and alluring air.

I know, I know, models come from far and wide across plains of the earths, so whilst their names sound exotic to us, it is more widely recognised in their homeland. Equally, I am aware that some models shall just have ordinary, popular names but it seems to me at least, flicking through the likes of Lula, i-D, LOVE, Dazed and Confused, the following: Candice Swanepoel, Yulia Terentieva, Magdalena Frackowiak, Constance Jablonski, Tatiana Lyadochkina, Madelene de la Motte and Karlie Kloss, all render me insignificant and cast me off as Bill Bloggs.

I'm aware that the perfection which dominates their faces, is what gives such names an enticing twist, names like Kate Moss prove that a being can transfer the ordinary into the extra-ordinary with a swish of fortunate genetic genes. The bottom line is, have one thing working in your favour and make everything else work for you. Emerald, emerald with envy is how I feel.

This photoshoot got my brain ticking about two things.

Firstly- how much I kick myself in the teeth for not being able to attend Rio carnival this year and envy all those whom were priviledged enough to shimmy along to irresistable brazilian beats.

Secondly, however, and most importantly, it got me thinking about the clothes choices I'll be making this summer.

Clearly ten bagels on one arm and just as many on the mirroring one, is a look more appropriate for a photoshoot and less so for the practicalities of real life.

Yet, I find myself coming to the conclusion, five on one arm and an equal amount on the other is the happy halfway point, between the impractical and so-what-if-I-jingle-jangle-everytime-I-move-it-looks-great. Head scarves and several head ornaments blossoming out from your hair follicles- well, there's no need to be a shrinking violet anymore. A year ago this look would have screamed out to me O.T.T, high-fashion shoots to lazy summer days around town- I felt this transition could not be made.

This summer however, where I'll be going abroad to Benicassim and Outlook festival I feel this look would slot perfectly in. My ethnic jewelry can be the treble to the bass. If that means turning a few heads as they take in all the droopy necklaces you are wearing or the vibrant print of your dress that swishes along with the sunshine, it's a good thing. A tribal teaser is what I shall try and filter gradually into my spring wardrobe.

It's such a pity I can't got bleach blonde without all my hair becoming brittle and rejecting the chemicals....sigh.

The hottest trend besides the Prada brogue-sneakers or Stella McCartney's polka dot collection?

Garage music.

After attending DMZ on Saturday, London's infamous dubstep night and the biggest night of its kind on the annual calendar- where people travel far and wide from various parts of Europe, to feel the floor vibrate beneath their two-stepping feet to underground beats. This year however, it was Jame's Blake set that stole the show- the chainsaw-like noise and sounds of chemicals bubbling in a mad scientist's lab, is sadly what it seems dubstep has been reduced to. Even the dubstep kings, Skream and Benga, are the guilty culprits of such unpleasant and unmelodic sounds.

There is no real emotion, harmony or sensual vocals which make up-coming post-dubstep/ garage artists like Julio Bashmore, Jamie xx, Jacques Greene and Cooly G's music so beautiful and the perefect kind of dreamy sounds you want to be hearing on a night, where the music should transport you on a journey. You are at one with the music, not merely just dancing to it. I am an avid corsica studio's clubber and last visit noticed artists such as Dark Sky's and The Boogalew Crew's new material, following this desirable direction.

When I was a child Artful Dodger's "three two one" made me jiggle my hips enthusiastically, yet the garage revival brings back "sentimental memories", which are all the better now I can hear them playing at my favourite clubs, my childhood jukebox substitued for the most impressive sound-systems.

Style that seduces

Tasty tassled killer-heeled shoes, body-bragging body-con & relaxed fit cardi, magnificent maxi with a pump twist, disneyland meets villainous vamp, bun hair magnitizes stares, sinfully skinny jeans.

I can feel myself rapidly approaching a pinnacle point in my life, in fact, I feel I almost there already. Hitting twenty in the not too distant future, I feel the urge to dress more sophistacted and with a demure I did not posses until recently. I still want to be able to wear mini skirts yet when I wear them to be taken seriously at the same time. The models and celebrities in the pictures above, do the following wonderfully, so I'm taking note. The thin tightrope of earning respect for wearing wild, young thing outfits well or spiralling downstairs into the depths of yesteryears- wearing your clothes in a way which may have been acceptable at 16, however no longer. Well, it's pretty mind-boggling.

Model Agency- Commercial V. Editorial

I don't know whether any of you follow Channel 4's "The Model Agency" but I think it's simply tremendous and hooking. The allure of such a fashionable world yet the stark contrast of the sky-high stress and brutal bitchiness. More than anything the nooks and crannies, just seeing how it all works.

The last episode was very fascinating with this rivalry between the commercial and editorial bookers. The commercial "show girls" are the one's who bring in the money, yet the editorial ones who give the agency prestige and supposedly the area the most prestigous agencies favour. The money lies in the campaigns, yet the commercial look is a "fuller" model, still in the normal world very slim, yet they have hips, breasts and curves whilst the catwalk promotes a more boy-ish frame. Commercial models are also more glamorously beautiful than puzzling or subjectively beautiful like editorial models.

American model Anna Speckhart, has done commercial campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch, Forever 21 and Heritage 1981- very commercial brands. Yet has also made appearances in VOGUE nippon, Elle France and Harper's Baazar Spain. The transition to make from commercial to editorial is very hard. The editorial girl must have an enigmatic air and not necessarily to spring to mind, "Oh yes, that's the girl from the A&F campaign."

Yet I believe Speckhart has the striking features and unusual beauty of an editorial model and could make this transition smoothly with time. A stunning new face who anticipate we shall all be seeing a lot more of.

Lily will my love for you ever cease to grow?

Lily has done it again for a shoot for French VOGUE- she looks breath-taking. The final georgian meet's 1950's inspired black dress made my jaw almost drop to the ground. The dress' texture looks so highly intricate, I wish I could put my finger out and touch my laptop screen and feel what it truly feels like. The baby pink gloves show this is a modern georgian woman and they are far darker and independent than the women of that era.

Giving the "hard shoulder" is taken to a new level in the first picture. I think knee high black hold-ups are always the perfect and sexy way to balance out heavier shapes above. The ebony wet look pants almost seem to has been inspired by ra ra la la la, Lady Gaga.

The second ballerina style dress is hard not to gasp over, especially since Black Swan, everyone wishes to relive their golden days as a dancer. The pvc black gloves toughen up the delicate caged corset and lustful ruffles that spew out from it. The key to looking divine when wearing a more revealing item is for its structure to be key- it holds everything in, whilst emphasing the beautiful shape of the woman's body- not pushing, squeezzing and spilling it all out.

Of late, I have been invited to numerous, I think I've got to the age now where you have already passed the days where your dress-up parties come to a halt as they are no longer "cool" and now, hitting twenty, dressing up is once again in as you can add a more seductive/ shcking/ bizarre adult twist to it. Mirror Mirror On The Wall, Who Has The Most Style This Week Of All?

Not A Shrinking Violet- purple lips sharpen the contrast against these dark yellow floral skinny fit trousers. The bell armed light white blouse is not only a spring essential but balances the shapes here creating a feminine and sensual look without baring too much flesh.

The revolutionary way to sport a rock tee with being accompanied by dark cigarette thin jeans. Babyshambles meets a Glastonbury dressing-up shop. Once again balancing of shapes creates a flirtatious and playful look with the array of baby pink frills whilst the boots and hat break up the colour and add (masculine) maturity to the look.

Her hair is divine for this outfit- an ebony lower-key harajuku girl. The sailor-esque white collars are in keeping with spring's traditional nautical theme yet high-waisted leather shorts and knee-high black hold ups prevent this look from falling into such a stereotypical catergory. A look which means dark business- and would not be out of place down the streets at "Fashion Week".

The back- subjectively the most sensual part of a woman's body. As the weather rises with our spirits back-baring is back (no pun intended there). The main rule of thumb for wearing a dress which shimmers like a dozen pots of gold is keep the rest of your outfit simple. Slicked back hair away from the face and some deep vogue or plum lipstick add sophistaction to this look.

My marmite relationship with leopard print- yet here I question what is not to love? Patent dark platforms, minimal black bag and absolutely delicious electric blue/black hair and block fringe with a splash of pale lips create a modern 60's mod vs. rocker look. An easy look to recreate.

The leggings remind me of those of a paint-splattered artist and the jacket, glasses and hat of a dry sensed humored clown, yet as comical as this two should look together, I think for a big night out they are mould to become a fantastic look for you to woo over a real stud.

Simplicity at its finest! Beige is my favourite colour at the moment as far as outwear (and chinos) is concerned. Monochrome jumpers never fail to conjure up some stylish magic, the gentry meets a light dose of punk.

The sculpting here is extraordinary. The bustier is perfect for petite frames, worn over a thin top, if desiring to achieve a more feminine shape. Bodycon skirt brings the body back into a beautiful bell shape whilst the billowing white top creates a looser look, wonderful for carefree spring dressing.

Red a tricky colour to wear and especially such a vast amount. Break it up with simple colours such as black or white to become a ravishing lady in red just as above.

There is dazzling news and disastrous news....

Disastrous news first..........when it became breaking news today, how could I not comment on Galliano being dismissed by Dior?

I think, akin to the majority of the nation- that it is shockingly despicable and being intoxicated is no excuse for racism in any shape or form. I suppose the tragedy lies, behind such fairytale-esque clothing and the most mind-numbingly beyond beautiful pieces and the most highly innovative and anticipated fashion shows....lies an ugly, corrupted and repugnant human being.

He is an absolute genius but has reduced himself to morph into the eyes of idiot by his conduct. Part of me wishes it wasn't true, as now when I look at his marvellous work, it taints the thought of the beauty behind the piece. His work shall be missed but he shall not.

Above and below is a small selection of my favourite pieces which encompass: fairy femme fetale, geisha goddess, orgami like sctructures and the ebodiment of what an an exquisite, enigmatic creature from another world should be.

Onto the dazzling news, Emilio Pucci's show has got to be one of my most adored.
Pucci promised for the show, “Hunters, Tyrolia, Sissi and a touch of Grimm Brothers fable....like a dark fairytale in the woods" and my, he delivered.

I can see Mila Kunis wearing this phenomenal dress, as many shades of blue as the sea and carrying this statement piece of with grace and flirtatiousness.

I can see Kate Bosworth's svelte frame complimenting this highly intricate lace dress on the left to perfection, as her delicate features add a twist to this gothic piece. Whilst Daphne Guinness' eccentric modern gothic style would be ideal for this frightfully frilly, sinfully gorgeous dress.
Bravo.

Do Forgive Me For Being So Dreadful

I would like to hang and hide my face in shame, or at least do so as seductively as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to earn some emapthy.

My blog has gone from being open to closed as frequently as a Jack-In-The-Box being played with by an over-excited child. Each time I have made a (false) promise, to make a real effort with blogging and to do so regularly and until, the day I die or decide I ramble too much. At the time I meant all these promises, and yearned to blog so badly and to keep up to date with others, that is what lured me back here. Unfortunately, I chose bad times to re-open: during exams, before long holidays, all in all, an epic failure for disaster.

Now I am halfway through my gap year, have none of these obstacles, just all the time in the world to blog, alongside a luscious laptop that I can take with me on my summer adventures.

My name is Siobhan and I live in South London. I am 19, turning 20 this November and I am going to go to Leeds university next year and I am delighted you are reading this, so thank you.

My fascinations and interests I suppose will all be revealed here, but my blog will be a culture one: fashion, art, photography, music, travels, nights out and any other obscure things I do/ discover/ am informed of by others, I will pass onto here.

Because The Bigger The Better

I love summer. The sun's warm rays and the sunkissed skin it brings along with it does indeed form a smile across my face. The only minor flaw about the gorgeous heat & the warm is the miracles it works to our hair!
Some lucky people may be unaffected by this but most not so lucky (including me), their hair seems to become as dry as the Gobi Desert and swell up to five times its normal volume, bringing the pesky fiend frizz!
But hurrah! Do not dispair
This summer THE BIGGER THE BETTER!
Yes, untamed, slightly wild large hair is the look of the summer.
Thank goddess for that! So relax in the sun with that fly-away-and-rather-astray hair and keep using hair masks (I reccommend the brands "Naked Truth") to keep those luscious locks deliciously moist.

Priceless: A Film Definitely Worth Paying To See

This French Film many have called "The Modern Day Breakfast At Tiffany's" does indeed echo the same theme: lots of glamour, a young pretty woman with a strong desire for money over love and her life taking a most unexpected turn.
Whether you like foreign films or not I strongly reccommend "Priceless". Audrey Tautou makes the perfect style icon in the film where her character Irene wears clothes simply to die for.
This hilarious but touching film is beautiful in every single way with amazing cinematography too.
A future classic? I'm sure.

I must admit that I have mixed feelings about this photoshoot; shot by Jason Kibbler for the June/July 2008 Edition of "Interview" magazine.At first the prospect excited me as I adore the whole factory girl era and Warhol's muses- Edie Sedgwick in particular. I feel this shoot however successfully does and does not capture that Warhol scene.

Aggy makes a very convincing Warhol but the blonde Edie pictures are....not so convincing I suppose. The latter photograph of a brunette Edie modelling her trade mark large, dangly earrings is believeable however. Warhol's muse from the "Velvet Underground" is kind of captured in the shoot but there is a noticeable contrast between the model and Warhol's original muse.

Is it just me? Don't get me wrong I love the idea of the whole shoot I just feel it doesn't convey as successfully as it could have that particular era.

Resort Review

I am so impressed with just how brilliant designer's resort pieces have been! I have seen endless amounts of superb clothing- I must admit I did feel intially that the past two seasons of clothes had been- less exciting than previous perhaps? Although the resort collections have been enchanting to say the least! Here are my favourite items from some of the designers.

Versace- Sophistacted royal blue

Isaac Mizrahi- Great work wear plus gladiator shoes making the look slightly more edgy. Definitely.

Phi- Historical underwear inspired outwear. A sure sign of sex appeal.

Badgley Mischka- The texture of this dress reminds me of mermaid scales

Roberto Cavalli- I wasn't that overally impressed with the collection but this vintage, lacey number most certainly caught my eye!

Erin Fetherson- How my jaw hit the floor when I saw this dress. Magnificent & my favourite item by far.

Stella McCartney- Couldn't fault her collection. This assymetric dress paints happy thoughts in my mind.

Prada- The most divine green outfit I've ever set my eyes apon.

Of late I have really been inspired by what older women wear for some obscure reason (maybe my dress sense has matured?) Being a adolescent going on adult, most would look to 20 something year olds and other people around their age but recently I find women in their thirties Thandie Newton, Daphne Guiness & Sarah Michelle Parker far more appealing.

I was intially going to do a post on Daphne Guiness but there is a lack of photographs around her on the web for me to do a reasonable sized posted with all her marvellous outfits so instead I'm focusing on Thandie Newton, a British born actress whose style I have really grown to appreciate of late.She has poise, elegance and grace with a soft and delicate manner. She is also very beautiful & frail. At the red carpet I rarely see her looking badly dressed and her choice of dresses definitely deserves all the praise they should get.

I have noticed Irina L's fashion choices having a striking resemblence to her ex friend Kate Moss.
Irina shot to fame on a fashion shoot Kate invited her to. Kate even asked Irina to model alongside her Kate's new clothing range for Topshop. The two were both models, stylish and had another thing in common- Pete Doherty.
Irina had recorded a few songs with Babyshambles and breifly dated Pete. After Kate and Pete's relationship ended after their second attempt Pete went back to Irina during the time she modelling Kate's clothimg range for Topshop. The girls friendship soon came to an end. Below are some of the possible sparks which may have flied between the two!
Irina's first silver dress choice is identical to a gold metallic one Kate wore at Glastonbury several years back (Irina even wears boots and a belt just like Kate's) and Irina's second outfit- well I wouldn't be suprised if I saw Kate step out in exactly the same thing!
Irina is stylish but recently she seems to have found a new fashion icon- Kate.

For any of you who are familiar with the UK Teen Drama "Skins", you will recognise this model is none other than "Effy" from Skins! I always thought she had a very interesting, beautiful face and could easily be a model and Models1 obviously picked up on this aswell as they signed the 5'6 actress to their agency. However now she is a model I'm unsure about whether it works. She looks great in the photographs that is undeniable and with her skills as an actress she can convey all that drama & expression vital for photographs but I feel rather than thinking "Oh wow that model looks great..." I just think "Oh look it's Effy from Skins". The whole actress and proffesional high fashion model I think is always flawed as the best models stick to what they do best: model. And the actresses stick to what they do best: act.

Kaya is a beauty the whole affair seems rather too...familiar.

I love people who take chances with their clothing and don't opt for very mainstream and very boring items. Chloe S. is known for her quirky style but for me sometimes she goes slightly overboard. Sometimes yeah she does look nice but others she just puzzles me. I feel the pieces don't always really suit her....she looks extremely pale and washed out in the first picture and the clothing does no justice for her figure as for the second picture I'm not keen on the dress I don't know why but it looks like something is missing and I find this outfit slightly puzzling too.....

The VOGUE May 07 has been at the height of speculation for a while. The May issue is printing "The Worlds Next Top Models". It features ten girls and the cover folds out. I can confirm the beauties gracing the cover are: Hilary Rhoda , Lily Donaldson, Raquel Zimmerman, Doutzen Kroes, Jessica Stam, Sasha Pivovarova, Agyness Dean & Coco Rocha, Chanel Iman and Caroline Trentini. These names have been well selected however I am suprised: Freja or Irina doesn't get a mention as both are models of the moment. Chanel I feel though being a Marc Jacob favorite and hot new model, I think another model should have replaced her for the shoot. As for Daria, she has already reached supermodel status and Gemma too, though if she continues to push her modelling career aside, the next top models will quickly take her place. COACD labels who is who in the shoot. This is the best quality picture available atm but closer to the time a better picture of the cover will no doubt be leaked. Other models working their way up: Anja Rubik, Suvi Koponen, Bruna Tenorio, Anna Maria Urajevskaya.

Style isn't just about following the latest trends, or being able to fit into a size 0 dress. For instance some of the most stylish people such as Kate Moss, yes, she is very pretty but not the most striking woman in the world yet, her imperfections make her even more appealing, the fact her hair can be a state, she is wearing one of last seasons trends and still looks great and the reason is, because she owns her style. There is a personal stamp on it which makes her such a style icon to many.

Mary-Kate Oslen, squeaky clean bubbly blonde teen now stroppy, rocky, high heel totty fashion icon & I do like her style. I would give anything to have that wardbrobe of hers. Do I think she is slightly dilluded? Yes. Troubled and insecure? Isn't that how most teen stars end up? Though I like her style, sometimes I feel like she does try too hard to play the "cool rebel twin". Then again, if it floats her boat I say good on her! Lindsay's new hair

She's ditched those dark brown locks (which were slightly too dark for her) and opted for a very blonde new do with long extenstions to match. However, I'm not very keen on it. The extenstions look a little to fake and the colour kind of tacky. I miss Lohan's gorgeous once red hair which has now been replaced with many different hair dyes all which don't have a thing on her natural colour. Red hair is rare and special and nothing to be ashamed!

On the spring/summer 07 catwalk when I saw Vlada Roslyakova strutting down the Giles catwalk I found this cropped black yeti outfit rather amusing and intruiging not once however, did I think someone would go as far as wearing it- and they did! To the most recent boombox party to be more precise- just goes to show with fashion- you really can let yourself go.

I also spotted Agyness looking wonderful and deliciously new ravish to thought I'd add in a picture of her outfit too!

Mr Galliano strikes again, and leaves me in awe once more.
The outfits ranged from old hollywood's most formal evening dresses to the middle east and the great wall of china inspired items. A bright satin pink seemed to be a favourite and the dresses oozes volume and sex appeal.
Make-up was bronzed skin, never-ending sweeping eyelashes, groomed and coloured in eyebrows. Lips went from very pale to bright pink on the upper lip and bright orange on the lower one.
Accessories proved with shoes, the sky is the limit for the heels- beautiful shoes that make a statement and seem to shout out "I'm the boss around here." The jewellery was beyond beautiful, large red, green and black gems sparkled here there and everywhere. The ladies at this show were inspirational ones with amazing sophistaction. John Galliano inspires and this is him at his best.

A gorgeous coat, it makes me think of little red riding hood, in black and minus the hood.

Yes I've got it all planned already....here are four of the divine items of clothing I shall be wearing this winter and autumn. The only thing that comes between these gorgeous garments and myself is....money. However, I can still dream and pray one day I'll wake up next to ten pots of gold, or twenty......These have been my favourite looks on the catwalk so far and I will eventually post a high-street (much more realistic and less expensive) list of looking gorgeous for this autumn and winter. I'm slighty against using real animal fur, even though it has been a major trend this season. However; do not fear! You can buy pretty realistic looking fake fur nowadays too! As for the Frumpy Chic look- Oh, I just raided grandma's closet and look what I found! I have (much to my dismay) fallen in love with this look. The shift is back in fashion to now I can head into lovely London and purchase a vintage one myself! As for Leather and PVC- if you've got the body to pull it off- what are you waiting for! However to avoid looking hooker-ish refer to catwalk photos for guidance and help.

Georgia Frost Not So Pretty After All.....

Select Model Georgia Frost is lean and photogenic. Just by looking at her pictures it's obvious she is a pretty girl. I even did a post on her many months ago when her career just started out and predicted she'd make it big, and considering so far she has appeared in most of the autumn/winter shows in ny and is in the new Dolce and Gabbana, Burberry and Anna Molinari campgains I can say "haha I was right."

Though I made this assumption on her portfolio I'd never actually seen other pictures of her and after seeing many catwalk photos of her; her hair colour is too yellow, her eyebrows are too dark for the hair, her hair is really thin, her ears poke out and she looks like a timid teenage who likes eating pizzas and staying at home.

I'm a nice person and I don't usually put people down and yes I accept they do photoshop and some people do look better in photos and different in real life but I've never seen a contrast before.

Just goes to show models have their flaws too.........

We see models looking fierce and pouting their lips, glaring through beaded eyes and sucking in their cheeks.We also see them looking soft and fragile, their eyes doe like and their faces filled with curiousity. Not usually do we see them looking seductive and playful in this kind of manner. Usually it would be tacky but for VOGUE Italia January this is what was exactly portrayed and no it wasn't tacky at all. It was absolutely divine.

Sasha looks wonderful (as usual). Hilary though I am not keen on her face looks great and Agyness well that girl goes from strength to strength and looks beautiful.

Over the past few days celebrities seen have gone....well.....just a little.....maybe it's the weather.....insane. I mean style wise though most of them are mentally unstable too. LiLo, MK and Naomi all show us what happens when celebrities go stark raving mad. Lindsay Lohan cleverly places her knickers over her leggings which is a look featured in next months VOGUE. The peach panties, I heart LA tee and all the rest- if only poor Linds had stayed at home. Mary-Kate left me feeling quite confused with this look, her hair for starters should be dyed a light/midi brown though the outfit is.....interesting. The dress is quite ethnic and similiar to that of African womens (except the print). Although Mary-Kate does it no justice, closer up it looks like a warm, cosy blanket wrapped around her tiny body. Then comes the shoes. At 4'11/5ft Mary-Kate obviously wants extra height but it looks like she is having difficultly walking. Everything about this whole outfit is wrong when put together. The bag could look great on its own, the dress, maybe if shortened and fitted and made less blanket like and more clothes like, as for the shoes, well....
Moving on to Naomi Campbell. The community service seems to have driven her (even) madder. She has a model's body but that doesn't mean we want to see her bits saying "hello" to the entire world. The blusher is slightly wild and a little too much and well that dress is just too damn low. Put a jacket on Naomi please otherwise you might just freeze!

Enter The Magical World of Christian Lacroix Couture; it steers you into a whole new dimension. Bumble bees flitter about, mushrooms the size of large TV's and fairies and pixies fill the air leaving behind a shimmering, sparkling trail. At least, that's how this collection made me feel. It took me back to being a little girl and playing dress up and actually believeing their could be such a thing as magic. Any seemed possible. Whilst I doubt I would wear any of it , just staring and drifting into a land far, far away is good enough for me.

Also notice how Lily Cole closes the show in a wedding dress. First Victor and Rolf For H&M and now Karl and Lacroix have picked up on how successful this could be.

Lagerfeld Lost His Touch?

Karl Lagerfield is a genius- no doubt about it and Chanel is one of my all time favourite brands so it pains me to say how bitterly disappointed I was with his Chanel Couture collection. There were only about three items I would even consider to place on my wishlist. It started off well with short coats and monochrome magic then it made a turn for the worst.

There third item shown has fur and fluff flying everywhere (which seemed to be Lagerfield's inspiration this season). It looked like someone had raided the store cupboard and attached all their findings on this dress. The next outfit screams out Victoria Beckham, a good enough reason to stay clear. Then it just seems to get worst the dismal grotesque gold dress it could be from Grandma's dressing up cupboard & the tacky grey fur extravaganza then last but not least the yeti bride.

I don't know what went wrong this season but hopefully Karl will pull himself together for his A/W 07 collection.

2007 Darling (Spring/Summer Couture)

John Galliano unveiled a magnificent, stunning array of clothing for his oriental inspired Christian Dior Couture collection. Paled-out white faces, ruby red lips, drawn on eyebrows and false eyelashes sweeping out to the sides were the desired look beauty wise. I have never been so impressed by such a positively beautiful collection. Rich colours; hot pink; corals; rich silk; delicately shaped items; wrap-arounds; fish creeping up dresses; bamboo; volume; highly embellished clothing. This collection was spectacular. The pressure is on for Galliano to unveil a collection just as delicously gorgeous as this for his next collection.
Valentino, stuck to what they do best, feminine, equisite clothing. Clothing complimented the woman's every curve, falling into all the correct places. The gilrs appeared like divine greek godesses, oozing with confident. However, closer up the adorned clothing appears very delicate and fragile like. A perfect contrast. Sixties influences also popped up with large plastic buttons on a very Audrey Hepburn-esque pink outfit and also a rather lovely detailed white shift dress.

Lindsay Lohan For Mui Mui

As much as I dislike her, yes she does look than any other catwalk model

the difference is...it looks NOTHING like her. They've practically given her a facelift via photoshop. They've stucked in her waist, streched her legs oh, and did I mention they've airbrushed her face out and only sticking to a few of her base features edited a lot more attractive one in?

The wonders of technology- they certainly work wonders for Miss Lohan.

Bad Hair Dyes and Too Much Fake Bake

A Chanel party, overflowing with celebrities, fashion industry insiders and an awful lot of Chanel clothing. You would expect only the most glamourous to show up and looking absolutely divine, (this is Chanel afterall and they are all about elegant, monochrome and well put together together feminine pieces) although this was not the case for some.

Kate Bosworth is a natural beauty (though I prefered when she wasn't such a stick) and Cameron Diaz can look pretty and healthy, however, both turned out with awful dye jobs, looking on the orange side of life and not looking their usual stylish selfs.

Miss Diaz was dressed better than Bosworth but that jet black hair is way to dark for her, it's not Spanish or exotic or even oriental on her, it verges on gothic. It pains me to speak so bluntly as I am rather keen on her.

As for Kate Bosworth she looked a little plain, this shade of brown seems to wash her out and I prefered the blonde as it seemed to bring out her features and those mysterious different coloured eyes. She also looked 10 years older, but at least in this outfit she looks slightly more healthy.

And what a beautiful wedding it was....

An End To New Young Pretty Things On Our Catwalk?

Now catwalk rules state you must be 16 and over to walk a catwalk. Most models are, however, a large majority are also 15, some even 14.

Anna Mariya Urazhevskaya, a new model to emerge is just 15, yet the designers already love her. Tanya Dziahileva, 15, a young golden haired beauty has been a catwalk favourite for a while. Not forgetting Chanel Iman, the 14 year old dark skined model of the moment. Though models spend a lot of time doing editorial and other shoots the catwalk propels them even further.

Whilst I do think you can't have fifty 13 year old waltzing up and down the catwalk, (unless that's the designer's type of thing) I do think it's going to be a shame to see such talent being restricted.

Though the girls only have a year or so to wait what I wonder is will the designers ever abide by this rule?

You can take the girl off the catwalk but from the catwalk off the girl. If she's got it in her....flaunt it. Don't let the talent shrivel up and die.

Is Lily Donaldson The UK's Next Kate Moss?

She's one of my favourite models (and so is Miss Moss).

Her dress sense, which I adore, is very rock 'n roll (like Kate's) and she's one of the new models of the moment. Her mother agency Select claim she is the next Kate Moss and I have to say I agree.

Both are photogenic, blond, have a similar dress sense and are from Great Britain. The only differences are one is a lot younger than the other and Lily's face is a lot softer than Kate's although that would be expected as Lily is a lot younger. Also Lily is 3 inches taller than Kate Moss.

However, eventually someone will have to take Kate's crown and become Britain's Next Top Model and if things carry on for Lily Donaldson as they have been....

well it might very well be her.

Audrey Hepburn in my eyes, has always been one of the most elegant and stylish women is history. The clothes she wore in her heyday are clothes that you see in fashion now. I would do almost anything to acquire her wardbrobe in "How To Steal A Million", where I feel she dresses even more stylish than in "Breakfast At Tiffany's."

The dress designed by Hubert de Givenchy was made for the 1961 film. Only yesterday was this dress sold at an auction for £467,200 - more than six times the estimate , at Christie's.

However, it seems Audrey started another fashion in "How To Steal A Million" she wears this rather large, showy riding hat. However, in Balenciaga's Fall '06 collection we see an exact replica of this very hat, in black and white.

Some the basic message is, that dramatic scarf you keep at the back of your cupboard, hold on to it.

Who knows, in the next ten or twenty years it may be considered the height of fashion again.

Just when we thought she was happy as a brunette we were all proved wrong...something however about this hair cries out the word "Tacky", maybe it's the lipstick, or fur coat, but it does not shout out "50's Hollywood Glamour, Eat Our Heart Out Marylin Munroe".

The gothic platinum blonde look was obviously not suited for MK, so someone please, pass the brown dye.

A Passing Trend

I'm not a large fan of the word "fashionable", unless used correctly. Using the word implies the particular person isn't gifted with natural style or originality; just the mere fact they are in VOGUE, fashionable. Though what comes in fashion, must come out.
I am aware this is the case for these House Of Holland Tops. Designed by Henry Holland (who works for Bliss Magazine) these quircky funny logo tops have become very popular with the fashion crowd, and even designers at their S/S 07 shows were spotted wearing them.
I however, have been seduced by the idea and can't resist buying one of these fashion tops as they simply are quite marvellous! Will they get worn next season? I wouldn't be so sure.....but is it worth it just for the few wears-I think for me the answer is "yes", and I will be trying to get as many wears out of them as possible....

For me are a bitter dissappointment. I never find what I am looking for nor anything romotely that interests me or catches my eye. Really the sales from my point of view are just a bundle of left-overs that no one wants so the store has to shift them and what a better way to do it than a sale? I do not feel I am too good for the sales, nor is it below me wearing "last season sale items" however, it is just the simple matter of not enough choice.
TOPSHOP's sale consists of about a mere 60 clothing items and is a terrible let-down, Miss Selfridge's is slightly more promising with rather nice coats reduced, though all in all, I don't jump for joy when I think of sales.

Victoria Beckham Unfashionable Move

Reading through an old style magazine I found a rather amusing quote from a writer, disturbed by the fact Miss Beckham was releasing a style book (That Extra Half an Inch) she seemed bewildered by the fact Posh thought she had the right to give others style advice as hers was a far cry from Miss Moss, which I agree.

The writer questioned what knowlege we could gain from this, "How to navigate a hair extension with a nail extension, perhaps?"

I think that says it all.....

The actress claimed it was something she would never do, as she was an "actress" but now this "actress" is teaming up with her sister Savannah to design a clothing range, due to launch in the new year, called "Twenty8Twelve". Hopefully the clothes will be better than the name. She has turned to none other than Donatella Versace for a helping hand at designing collection which will feature "denim, knitwear, dresses and outerwear."
Whether this sounds like a good idea, I know my own personal views and will let you judge...
Personally for me Sienna Miller is a second rate, much less famous Kate Moss (probably as they are around the same height, have blonde hair and both have connections with Sadie and Jude).
Her new take on Edie Sedgwick in the movie Factory Girl, due to be released here in the New Year, is a plausible attempt but not exactly spot-on. I'll will have to eagarly wait until it reaches the cinemas over here, but judging but what I've seen even though her acting rumoured "oscar worthy" someone she doesn't seem quite right for the part. From a distance though they might appear identical, closer up the differences show.

Finally one of my model favourites has been signed up to IMG New York. Lily Donaldson, a blonde model from the baby alien face generation is close friends with supermodel Gemma Ward. Despite appearing on numorous VOGUE cover's and having campaigns she still remained at Select Model Management (to my suprise IMG didn't snap her up) but eventually they have come to their sense. English Lily is doing it for the Brits- the next Kate Moss? Who knows.....
